  1. Use the PENCIL gadget to install the driver's needed for your
  2. keyboard(s) and/or sound module(s).
  3.  
  4. Click the left mouse button while pointing over the PENCIL button.
  5. The button will become selected, and the pointer will turn into a
  6. pencil indicating that the program is waiting for you to select the
  7. destination for the driver you will be installing.  Choose the location
  8. for the driver by clicking somewhere within the driver list box in "The
  9. PatchMeister" window.

  11. You will be presented with a file requester.  Select the specific driver
  12. that you want to install into "The PatchMeister" environment.
  13.  
  14. After the driver appears in the window, you may want to adjust its MIDI
  15. route.  Click over the PENCIL button to turn it off.  Hold down the
  16. left mouse button while pointing to one of the MIDI route numbers.  The
  17. number will turn white and the pointer will disappear.  Continue to hold
  18. down the left mouse button and move the mouse up to increment and down
  19. to decrement the value.  Release the mouse button when the correct value
  20. is displaying.

  22. S-Ch  ==>  Sysex Communications Channel.  Make sure this channel matches
  23.            the channel of the instrument you want to communicate with.

  25. Ch    ==>  Audition Channel.  This channel is used for the "Note On"
  26.            commands generated by "The PatchMeister".  This channel will
  27.            more than likely be the same as the `S-Ch' channel.  However,
  28.            some synths (i.e.  Roland MT-32) use one channel for Sysex
  29.            Communications, and a different set of channels for "Note On"
  30.            commands.  Make sure this channel is set to match the channel
  31.            on which your synth will respond to "Note On" commands.

  33. In    ==>  MIDI In.  Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI In port.

  35. Out   ==>  MIDI Out.  Bars&Pipes Pro users may select a MIDI Out port.

  37. P-Bay ==>  Patch Bay MIDI Channel and Patch Bay Program Number.  If you
  38.            are using a patch bay, make sure the MIDI channel matches the
  39.            channel that your patch bay is listening to, and that the
  40.            program number is the program (patch) that will establish the
  41.            proper MIDI route to this synth.
